Production and Development Lab Resources

Our development laboratory permits our engineers and technicians to test new hardware and software in a mixed-platform, mixed-use environment. This testing includes examining how planned changes to our customers network systems will effect existing systems and processes. We have the ability to simulate and test devices in LAN and WAN environments from 10Base-T to Gigabit Ethernet and 56Kbps to 44Mbps respectfully. Our state of the art facilities include servers operating on NetBSD, FreeBSD, multiple Linux Distributions (2.2, 2.4, and 2.6 kernels), Windows Server 2000, and Windows Server 2003, and recently added RC-distributions of Windows Server 2008. We also operate development servers with Microsoft SQL server 2000/2005, Oracle 10x, PostgresSQL, and mySQL databases. This compliment of database infrastructure is matched with messaging and collaboration resources including Microsoft Exchange Server 2003/2007, postfix, and QMail, and sendmail. We are able to simulate both traditional client-server and purely server-based environmnents through our development deployments of Microsoft Terminal Services and Citrix Presentation Server 4.5. This infrastructure allows us to recreate with excellent precision and accuracy customer network environments to determine the cause/effect relationships of planned systems changes or additions. Our development lab offers customers a chance to preview the functionality, performance, and interaction of new equipment and systems before implementing them on their production networks.

Our production laboratory provides our engineers and technicians with the ability to make new systems configurations and installations a pleasant experience for our customers. This facility provides a quality controlled environment to test and configure new equipment, ensure proper functionality, and to service equipment in repair. The final product is the ability to deliver and efficiently install fully configured and tested systems at the customer's facility with a greatly streamlined time to get the new/upgraded systems into service.

By building a lab at CIT, our technicians have the ability to work better and faster because all the resources they need are at their fingertips. This cuts down/eliminates out of box failures, wasted travel time, customer network downtime, and the use of our customers office space assembling and configuring systems. We have invested time and materials into building a facility that is optimal for the configuration and testing of our customers systems. We have designed procedures and processes that ensures the job is done accurately and efficiently the first time.
