Prime Day 2020
Amazon’s Prime Day start tomorrow, Tuesday October 13th

Amazon’s Prime Day is October 13th and 14th – are you ready? Or should I say you are aware of scams planned around Amazon’s Prime Day?

Bad guys have already created phony Amazon lookalike sites designed to trick people into providing confidential information.  Bad guys are ready, hopefully you are aware and ready to beat their scams.

Follow these tips to shop safely:

  • Go directly to to shop. This is the only way to be sure you are shopping on the real Amazon.
  • Never trust a link in an email that you were not expecting. Bad guys will be sending sneaky phishing emails that direct you to these phony amazon pages.
  • Look for anything out of the ordinary. For example, Amazon will never ask you to re-enter saved payment information.
  • If it looks too good to be true, it is. The Prime Day event may have some good deals, but not “Free iPhone” good!
59% will shop online this year for the holiday

Retails say don’t wait for the deals — they have already here. Plus, many may sellout and deliveries may be delayed this holiday season. Time to start the holiday shopping.

It has been stated that other retailers such as Target, Walmart and more will have deals that next two days, also.

For an organization make sure your employees are aware of scams, not just Prime Day — keep them updated with alerts. And don’t forget to do Security Awareness Training on a regular basis.
